Gardening for Dummies: I hate Monsanto

***** Update: I'm sitting here late tonight totally stressed out about having just fed my plants a Monsanto product. How on earth do they do it?! How is Monsanto EVERYWHERE?! Clearly, I'm a rookie gardener ... I've been honest about that from day 1. I have to learn to read labels and research. Just like I search every label for high fructose corn syrup, I must now google search every company to find out if its parent company is Monsanto and therefore not consumable. Sorry to so carelessly promote something from evil Monsanto.

DON'T USE MIRACLE GRO. I'll be throwing mine out now ... actually, I'll probably take it back to Costco since they have such a great return policy. Or maybe call the money guarantee on the back of the box. Ugh. I'll let you know what I find as a replacement ... and how well my garden does without it.

    3. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry. This looks SO confusing. Yesterday, I posted that I had been using Miracle Gro. And I totally offered a great testimonial on how wonderful it was because my garden is all thriving ... THEN ... reader Selene, commented below and I started researching. I was sorta ticked (to say the least) that I had supported MONSANTO. I know it sounds really negligent, and it is, but I'm a total rookie gardener and always heard about Miracle Gro and it's so wonderful ... blah blah blah. Bought it, used it, never did the research. So, I edited my post, because it seemed like the responsible thing to do.

I'll direct you to the link that Selene posted:

      Sorry to confuse you.

And Boswell0617 ... don't do it! Go buy some fish emulsion and try that. That's what I'm gonna try next. Good luck, guys!

  3. My friend just told me today about a app that is free that helps you boycott products from companies you do not want to support like Monsanto products. Its called Buycott. I haven't used it yet, but hopefully this will be one of my new favorite apps.
